About Fairtrade
The FAIRTRADE Mark is an independent consumer label which appears on products as an independent guarantee that disadvantaged producers in the developing world are getting a better deal.
For a product to display the FAIRTRADE Mark it must meet international Fairtrade standards . These standards are set by the international certification body Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO).
Producer organisations that supply Fairtrade products are inspected and certified by FLO. They receive a minimum price that covers the cost of sustainable production and an extra price premium that is invested in social or economic development projects that directly benefits the producers.
The Fairtrade Foundation licenses the FAIRTRADE Mark to products in the UK which meet FLO standards.

Natural Beverage Company is licensed to use the Fairtrade symbol because Fruit Hit Smoothies contain ingredients sourced from an accredited supplier organisation – AgroFair
AgroFair is a Fairtrade fruit company which is co-owned by the farmers who grow the fruit. AgroFair operates across Europe, supplying its high quality Fairtrade and organic-Fairtrade bananas, mangoes, pineapples and citrus to a wide range of packers, food manufacturers and retailers.
The farmer growers are from countries in Africa and Latin America and are represented on the main board and at annual shareholder meetings.
The structure of AgroFair is unique. The farmer growers that supply AgroFair with its Fairttrade fruit are organised into Cooperative Producers AgroFair and own 50% of the company’s shares. This gives them decision making powers and safeguards their long term trading relationships.
